This web
site is about a campaign on HIV disclosure by the Australian Federation
of AIDS Organisations and the National Association of People with
AIDS.
In designing this campaign we found that often HIV-negative men and
HIV-positive men think very differently about the issues of HIV disclosure.
And they often hold their opinions very strongly. This campaign is
not about who is right or wrong. The campaign aims to get gay men
to think about what is actually happening not what they think
should happen.
This campaign is about mistaken expectations, assumptions and misunderstandings.
Its about what actually is happening in the real world. It is
asking gay men to
Think again:
If
you think positive gay men always tell their HIV-status.
If
you think negative gay men always tell their HIV-status.
If
you think someone who wants "unsafe sex" has HIV.
If
you think someone who wants "unsafe sex" does not
have HIV.
If
you think someone who doesnt say they are HIV-positive
must be HIV-negative.
